"Authentic! A charming and authentic spot with a delightful little terrace. The atmosphere was cozy, our waitress was super sweet and welcoming (I believe she might have been Latina). The carcamosas was delicious. We come back for sure!"

"To our surprise the restaurant was open on Monday night . The menu is perfect sized:starters (tapas) fish, meat and salads on one side of A4 paper and on the back vine. Very quick and service minded staff. A pleasant surprise to see that in a super touristic town there are some more local anchored restaurants with very tasty food and prices that I found absolutely fear. Thank you so much for your hospitality."

"We had an excellent meal and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. We had their signature dish of pork stew as well as the deer. Both were very delicious. Our server, Stephy, was top notch - extremely friendly and attentive. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting Toledo."

"We visited this place based on recommendation, in a weekend on a Bank Holiday. As expected was super crowded and very busy at lunch time. The menu we had was very tasty and the bar staff very prompt in providing services. My only issue was the customer traffic handling. They need to come up with a better system of handling big crowds of customers. I had to wait inside for one hour till I got a spot at the bar. To be seated you have to leave your name at a waiter and wait for them to call you, that is if you'll hear it through all the noise going on around. If not, well... you may miss your opportunity. I would return here but definitely not in busy days."

"Bar Ludeña — the birthplace of the legendary “carcamusas”, a saucy, meaty love story between tender pork, peas, and tomatoes. Locals whisper that this dish was first cooked up here in the mid-20th century, when hungry Toledians needed something hearty to soak up their wine… Tucked into a centuries-old stone building in Toledo’s old quarter, Bar Ludeña oozes that classic Castilian charm of wooden beams, tiled floors, and the kind of walls that could tell stories about knights, poets, and probably one too many drunken sword fights. Legend has it the bar’s name honors a local family that served both tapas and trouble (depending on who you asked). Inside, the energy is warm, loud, and authentically Spanish — locals clinking glasses, waiters zipping through narrow aisles with the confidence of matadors, and the heavenly aroma of simmering tomato and pork filling every corner. Order the Menu del Día with a choice of its Toledian carcamusas as the mains — rich, saucy, slightly spicy, and downright flirtatious. Pair it with a glass of local red, and you’ll swear Toledo just winked at you. Sit by the bar if you want the full Toledian experience — that’s where the locals banter, gossip, and debate who makes the best carcamusas in town. **The course meal comes with two breads in basket but if you want an extra it costs €1.20/each. Cerveza sin alcohol (0.0 alcohol beer) is available as choice of drink as part of the menu. Choice of dessert: Flan / Arroz con leche (rice pudding) or ice cream"

"The Carcamusa is said to have originated here. So I went in search of the birthplace of this dish, which consists mainly of pork, tomato sauce and peas. What can you expect from something like this? Well, actually, this dish turned out very well. The pork was tender, the sauce had some spice but was not too spicy. The piece of bread with it could have been better, though. Just delicious."

"If you want an authentic Spanish experience that is very local in flavor this is the place for you. A real hole in the wall gem. Because the restaurant is small and only seats a limited few get there early when they open or there will be a wait. We were there in off season and got right in but people were waiting in the bar when we left. It’s worth the wait. We enjoyed a ensalada with roasted red peppers and tuna, Carcamusa (pork stew and specialty of the house) and ham and cheese croquettes. All very good. And so reasonably priced. Enjoy!"
